The C&amp;O Canal Trust is pleased to announce a significant update to its C&amp;O Canal Explorer app, designed to assist in touring the entire 184.5 miles of the C&amp;O Canal National Historical Park. The update was released in August 2021.

The mobile application presents the following functionalities:
<ul>
 <li>Over 600 mapped and searchable points of interest</li>
 <li>Integration with your device's GPS for proximity awareness to points of interest</li>
 <li>Driving directions and distance calculations between locations</li>
 <li>Detailed information about historic sites</li>
</ul>

The recent update introduces several enhancements:
<ul>
 <li>Inclusion of mile markers</li>
 <li>Expanding the database to feature 200 restaurants, hotels, and shops in ten Canal Towns</li>
 <li>An itinerary builder enabling users to craft, save, and share customized C&amp;O Canal experiences</li>
 <li>Option to maintain screen visibility during use (preventing automatic power-off)</li>
</ul>

The C&amp;O Canal Explorer app serves as a tool to inspire exploration of uncharted areas and new adventures within the Park.

The C&amp;O Canal Trust, the official nonprofit partner of C&amp;O Canal National Historical Park, is dedicated to safeguarding and conserving the Park.
